Wow! Talk about a major bucket-list moment checked off! ...we actually got to blaze with Snoop backstage AND take a few pics after he was honored with a liftime achievement award from High Times Magazine!
What a way to kick off the holidaze here in the Mile High City! During our coverage of last week's Cannabis Cup and 420 events, High Times Magazine asked us to tag along after Snoop Dogg‘s 'Lester Grinspoon Lifetime Acheivement Awards' ceremony for a quick meet and greet with High Times' Senior Editor (and creator of the Miss High Times Comptetition), Bobby Black and the one and only, Snoop Dogg!
We had to wait around after the show for quite awhile and it was getting super late, creeping into the early morning hours of 420 and to be honest, I was exhausted after a long evening of shooting and ready to get some sleep in preparation for the very very busy week ahead (I still had to go home, backup photos, charge batteries, eat and hopefully sleep a little bit before waking up in a few hours to shoot day one of the Cannabis Cup AND Denver's 420 Rally)… But, at the same time, there was no way I was gonna miss this opportunity!
Eventually, we finally got the chance to go in and meet the man himself, smoke a joint and chit-chat a bit. My main takeaway, as an exhausted 5 foot tall photographer, was that… no matter how many times I've seen Snoop on stage or in photos, I never really realized how tall he was until he was standing right next to me passing a joint down from what felt like 15 feet above my head!
Anyways, it was yet another epic experience I'll never forget provided by the cannabis plant and the people that love her... huge thanks to Snoop, Bobby and High Times for an amazing evening I'll never forget!
